GOTTFRIED SCHIESTL – THE VISIONARY 1960

Amist the marvellous landscape and far off the tourism regions, our grandfather Gottfried Schiestl opened the mountain inn Lamark – and began to invigorate the high valley together with two companions. With great respect and consideration for the picturesque natural surroundings, the first lifts were built, road connections improved and new paths developed to excite guests from all over the world for the breath-taking diversity and the healthy life in the mountains.

And so, within one decade, a jewel in the middle of the Zillertal mountains came to be.

His visions, his courage and his tireless work are the reasons that we have our wonderful life in Tyrol, our livelihood and numerous happy memories today.

The honest hospitality, the diligence and the inspiration of our dear grandfather are still an example for our hotel management today and are greatly honoured.

GRETL & LUTZ – REACHING FOR THE STARS 1974

Since she was little, daughter Gretl has been experiencing the familiar and harmonious everyday business in the Lamark and so it was out of the question that she and her husband Lutz Fankhauser would take over the business.

A new wind was blowing through the ski hotel in Hochfügen and brought a new design, upscale standards and stylish improvement. The former holiday home turned into an upscale 4-star-hotel that had a lot to offer, also apart from the fantastic ski slopes and mountain landscapes. But still more important than exclusive offers such as wellness & SPA, pools and living comfort is a cordial and familiar atmosphere at the gourmet hotel Lamark. Like in grandfather’s days, the guests should feel totally at ease and welcome.

PETRA & ALEXANDER – THE AESTHETES 1999

In the year of 1999, Lutz’s and Gretl’s son Alexander Fankhauser entered his parents’ business together with his wife Petra. While Petra is working in the hotel management together with her parents in law, Alexander brought the high art of cooking to the Lamark.

KITCHEN UPGRADE BY THE TV COOK

As an awarded cook, Alexander followed his passion and turned the Lamark hotel kitchen into an haute cuisine of superlatives. Thanks to his commitment, our guests can enjoy cuisine on the highest level. MARLEN & XANDER – OUR WHOLE PRIDE

If our juniors Marlen and Xander will follow in their ancestors’ footsteps someday is still written in the stars. The only important thing is that the two of them enjoy a happy and relaxed childhood amidst our beloved Tyrolean mountains.
