A PROJECT OF THE HEART

Beside his successful TV career as ORF television chef, Alexander Fankhauser always cherished the dream of his own restaurant. He dreamed of a kitchen where he could celebrate and realise all his visions, ideas and creativity with passion. An awarded gourmet cuisine for all those who love to eat well!

In 1999, his big dream came true! The star cook opened the Restaurant Alexander on 1,500 metres above sea level which was among the best gourmet addresses of Austria ever since and was continuously awarded by leading gourmet guides.

The history of the Restaurant Alexander

In winter 2019/20, the Fankhauser family was given the opportunity to take over leased facilities in the Hochfügen ski resort. This was followed by an operational restructuring and repositioning of the Hotel Lamark.

Since Alexander Fankhauser brings his cuisine in various versions to all establishments, the Fankhauser family decided to close the Restaurant Alexander after 21 successful years at the end of the 2019/20 winter season.

Alexander Fankhauser is of course still responsible as head chef at the Hotel Lamark and will now increasingly bring his passion for cooking into the half-board area for all our house guests.

For you as a Lamark guest, this means being accompanied by Alexander Fankhauser's culinary skills throughout the day in our establishments in the Hochfügen ski area as well as in the Hotel Lamark!
